They say you can find just about anything on YouTube. Maybe even the dad you never had — or at least the fatherly advice and affirmation. Kenney said his motivation for the channel stems from his rough childhood after his father left their family when he was a teen. He and his seven siblings longed to have someone to teach them basic survival skills. Kenney has long since forgiven his father and began making videos last April during the COVID pandemic to share with his two adult kids, Kristine and Kyle, thinking maybe they would be passed down to his grandkids someday. He also has product endorsements and possibly a TV show in the works. Q: Why do you think your videos have resonated with so many people so quickly? It sure happened by surprise since my first video went viral. I guess you could consider it was the perfect storm. I only expected to help about 30 to 40 people.

"The Warrior" (2002) — directed by Asif Kapadia.

This is the first report under newly instated Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai , who took over as the chief executive of the entire company late last year after co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin stepped back from day-to-day duties and promoted Pichai, formerly Google CEO, to the top spot. Separately, Google says YouTube has more than 20 million subscribers across its Premium ad-free YouTube and Music Premium offerings, as well as more than 2 million subscribers to its paid TV service. That makes it hard to gauge the specific performance of any one product bundled under that category. But alongside YouTube ad revenue, Google is also disclosing the financial performance of its cloud computing division. That means Google massively beat Wall Street expectations on profit, but missed on revenue. That could be one reason why Google may be disclosing YouTube and Google Cloud revenues for the first time. That said, a revenue miss of this magnitude for Alphabet means investors were not pleased, and Alphabet stock is now down more than 4 percent in after-hours trading.
As YouTube celebrates its 15th birthday, we talk to five early adopters about how the all-singing all-dancing platform has evolved. Two months later, when the first video of Karim briefly describing the elephant enclosure at the San Diego Zoo was uploaded, a platform was launched that has gone on to change the world. Today, more than 2bn of us visit YouTube monthly, and hours of footage is uploaded every minute. At first, users earned a few hundred pounds for mentioning products in their videos; now they can make hundreds of thousands, and much more through exclusive brand deals. Not many like talking about their income: it makes them less relatable.
